The land of the Mapuche, Rapa Nui and Aymara..

  • All visitors to Chile or Argentina must have a passport valid for at-least 6 months. US and Canadian citizens do not require a visa to travel to Chile or Argentina.

  • Tourist card, more commonly known as PDI (Investigations Police of Chile), will be issued for a stay of up to 90 days at the point of entry. Please hold on to that card for your entire stay.

  • All major credit cards are accepted at most places. However, we strongly recommend you carry cash in local currency. Chilean Peso and Argentine Peso are the two currencies of the respective countries.

  • The average daily riding mileage, except one of the days, is lower than Sojourn’s other trips. Compared with many Latin American countries, travelers to Chile generally get off fairly lightly when it comes to altitude sickness. However, unlike North America, Europe or even Asia, riding distances feel longer in South america than they actually are, during to varying altitudes. We travel between 2000 ft to 8000 ft during our trip. That includes a 10.2 mile ride in the Andes on Monday, with a 3900 ft elevation gain. We maintain a margin of caution when it comes to riding over altitude changes.

  • In order to experience the full grandeur of Chile, we spend more time shuttling on this trip than on a typical Sojourn trip. This enables us to explore the incredible variety of ecosystems and scenery this region has to offer. Rest assured, the views from these shuttles are spectacular.

  • At the end of the Chile part of the trip, we return to Santiago International Airport(SCL).

  • Guests from North America can fly in and out of Santiago International Airport (SCL). For Post-Trip Extension to Argentina, you will need to fly from Santiago airport (SCL) to Mendoza( MDZ) at the conclusion of your Chile trip. Please do not book your onward flight to Mendoza before 4pm at the end of the Chile trip on Friday. We will return to MDZ at the end of our Post-Trip Extension. The best option to connect from Mendoza(MDZ) is through Buenos Aires(EZE) or Santiago(SCL).
