Bike Tour in Maine - Acadia National Park | Frequently Asked Questions
We start at the Bar Harbor Inn at 2:30 PM on Day 1. The trip concludes at the same location on the last day around 2 PM (depending on how long the ride takes you).
- Meals: All Breakfasts and most dinners and lunches are covered. We leave a few evenings and afternoons open for you to explore the variety of restaurants in Bar Harbor. We strongly recommend a reservation for the restaurants you pick.
- Routes: Although most of the riding is on the carriage trails we do sometimes share the road with traffic. Park regulations limit speed and so roads are very safe. The Carriage Roads are inaccessible to motor vehicles so you will not have access to the van during these segments. Regulations in the park further restrict the van from pulling over outside of designated areas.
- Non-Biking Activities: There are many non-biking activities on this trip; a sunset sail, guided sea kayaking, hikes, and more. The hikes can at times be technical and strenuous. Proper footwear is strongly recommended.
Professionally fitted road, hybrid, and e-bikes (limited supply), plus helmet and a bike bag. We’ll set you up for comfort on Day 1. E-bikes are permitted wherever traditional bikes are allowed. Your leaders will brief you on any local guidelines before each ride.
All breakfasts, as well as most dinners and lunches are covered. We leave a few evenings and afternoons open for you to explore the variety of restaurants in the area. In addition to that, luxury lodging during your entire stay, bike selection and fitting, support van and guides, route files, all hotel and restaurant gratuities, and select activities noted in your itinerary are all included. Here’s what’s included.
There are a few longer ride days and you can choose to ride as much or as little as you want. Our vans are always there to offer you a break. Also, our trips are designed to be flexible, giving you the freedom to experience it the way YOU want. So if you want some downtime or to do things on your own, our leaders will work to find you the best days to do it.
This is rated as an intermediate trip with relatively short rides with a decent amount of climbing. Riding distances vary with a day off to kayak and hike. Currently, the longest distance you can ride is 34 miles in a single day but once again you can choose to opt for as little as you ride.
The itinerary we provide can change on a certain day in terms of restaurant time, road closures, and weather conditions. Our leaders are fully trained at offering alternate plans and solutions. We seek your cooperation and promise to deliver the best vacation experience regardless.
Pack for layers – warmer days and cooler nights. Also it can sometimes get rainy in Maine during Summer. So pack light jackets, breathable activewear, sun protection (hat, SPF, sleeves), casual resort wear, and closed-toe cycling shoes. We’ll send a detailed packing list after booking.
We have one of the industry’s most lenient cancellation policy. Here’s our full terms and conditions.
