Florida Bike Tour - Frequently Asked Questions
Easy–moderate. Expect mostly flat terrain on paved paths and bike lanes with daily rides of ~20–35 miles. Van support and e-bikes make it approachable for newer riders. 90% paved.

Arrival in Alabama & Introductory Ride
Arrive at Birmingham Airport, where your Sojourn guides will greet you for a short shuttle to Hotel Finial in Anniston. After check-in, enjoy a light lunch and prepare for your first ride on the Chief Ladiga Trail—a warm-up ride to test your bike fit and comfort. Riders wanting extra distance can enjoy an out-and-back extension. That evening, join us for a welcome dinner at a beloved local favorite featuring upscale Southern cuisine.
Ride the Chief Ladiga Trail to Georgia
After breakfast, shuttle to your previous endpoint and continue your journey along the Chief Ladiga Trail toward the Georgia border, connecting seamlessly to the Silver Comet Trail. Ride through wooded landscapes and wetlands, with a scenic picnic lunch en route. End near Coot’s Lake Beach Trailhead. Tonight, we stay at the picturesque, historic Barnsley resort. Enjoy a relaxing dinner at the resort, surrounded by gardens and rolling hills.
Ride the Silver Comet Trail to Atlanta
After breakfast, return to the trail at Coot’s Lake and begin your ride on the Silver Comet Trail, a highlight of the trip. Today we cycle through farmland, across scenic trestles, and through the Brushy Mountain Tunnel, ending near Atlanta’s suburbs. After lunch, we will transfer to The Burgess Hotel in Buckhead, where you will soak in the hotel’s boutique luxury with artful Southern flair. This evening, savor a farewell dinner together and toast the memories made along the trail.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before crafting your own adventure in Atlanta by visiting some of the city’s most iconic attractions. Explore the World of Coca-Cola, the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, the Georgia Aquarium, or stroll through Centennial Olympic Park. We will transfer you to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport for late-afternoon departures—bringing your Southern cycling adventure to a perfect close.
