With just ten cabins, the experience is cozy, casual, and distinctly Dutch rather than that of a luxury cruise ship. The boat features ten compact, comfortable cabins, each with a private bathroom including a shower, toilet, and washbasin. Most cabins have twin beds, and some can be arranged as a larger bed. Storage is limited, so we recommend packing light. This is an authentic Dutch barge experience rather than a conventional luxury cruise.
Yes. Guests who prefer not to cycle on a particular day can generally remain aboard the boat while it cruises to the next destination. Some sightseeing experiences and route highlights may not be accessible when skipping a ride.
The tour includes all breakfasts and lunches, plus six dinners. One evening is left open for guests to enjoy a restaurant of their choice in Alkmaar. Please advise us of dietary needs when booking. Vegetarian, lactose-free, and gluten-free requirements should be communicated in advance. Unfortunately, vegan meals cannot be accommodated due to the limited size of the barge’s kitchen.
The tour begins and ends in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Boarding on Day 1 is scheduled between 1:00 and 2:00 PM, and luggage may be left aboard from 11:00 AM. The trip concludes with disembarkation at approximately 9:30 AM on Day 8. Guests flying home that day should not schedule departure flights before 2:30 PM.

However, entry requirements may change, including the introduction of the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS). Amsterdam to Haarlem — Welcome to Holland
Welcome to Amsterdam, where your Netherlands bike-and-barge adventure begins. Board between 1:00 and 2:00 PM and settle into your cabin before cruising toward Haarlem.
Enjoy an introductory cycling ride near the historic village of Spaarndam, known for its canals, traditional Dutch houses, and picturesque waterside setting. It’s a lovely first glimpse of Holland’s cycling culture.
After dinner aboard, join your leaders for an evening walk through Haarlem’s beautiful historic center, with its cobblestone streets, remarkable architecture, and inviting market square.

In the afternoon, you ride to the city of Leiden. Dinner will be on board tonight. Post-dinner, we can all go on a walk through the town.
