Bluenose Lodge, Lunenburg
Somewhere between a boutique Inn and gracious home sits the Bluenose Lodge on Nova Scotia’s South Shore in Lunenburg. Built as a sea captain’s home in 1863, it was converted into an Inn in the 1940’s. It is a Victorian Gothic style building known for its distinctive architectural features, including a prominent widow’s tower.(2 Nights)
Tattingstone Inn
This historic inn offers a casual, elegant setting and is known for its delicious breakfasts, which are created with fresh, local ingredient and made to order. (1 night)
Queen Anne Inn
This 1865 Heritage property is beautifully set among stately Elm and Maple trees and is one of the finest properties in the Maritimes. (2 nights)

FAQs
- Start & End: The tour starts in Halifax Stanfield Airport at 12:30 PM (YHZ). The trip concludes at the same airport at the end of the week at 2 PM.
- Meals: All breakfasts and most dinners and lunches are covered. We leave a few evenings and afternoons open for you to explore the variety of restaurants in the area. We strongly recommend researching opening times and making a reservation for the restaurants you pick.
- Accommodations: The inns on this trip are quite nice, but can offer more casual service than is common for Sojourn tours. The area is very rural, and these boutique locations offer authentic and comfortable service.
- Shuttle: In order to offer you the best of an area on a trip, we sometimes have to make liberal use of shuttles. On this trip, there is a 2 ½ hour shuttle ride from the Halifax to Annapolis Royal at the start of the trip. Upon tour conclusion, there is a 1 ½ hour shuttle back to Halifax.
- E-Bike: Limited number of E-bikes are offered on a first come first serve basis.
- Van support: There are a few longer ride days and you can choose to ride as much or as little as you want. Our vans are always there to offer you a break.
- Flexibility: Our trips are designed to be flexible, giving you the freedom to experience it the way YOU want. So if you want some downtime or to do things on your own, our leaders will work to find you the best days to do it.
- Level of Riding: This is rated as an easy/intermediate trip with barely any bigger hills, but still some elevation on most days. Currently, the longest distance you can ride is 74 miles in a single day but once again you can choose to opt for as little riding as you’d like.
- Routing and Scheduling: The itinerary we provide can change on a certain day in terms of restaurant time, road closures, and weather conditions. Our leaders are fully trained at offering alternate plans and solutions. We seek your cooperation and promise to deliver the best vacation experience regardless.

Nova Scotia Bike Tour
Welcome to your Nova Scotia bike tour and the vibrant town of Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We welcome you at the Halifax airport and drive to Lunenburg. After a brief bike fitting, we ride to the lovely fishing village of Blue Rocks, then retrace to Lunenburg . Tonight, gather with your group for a welcome reception and dinner.
Travel past weathered coves, across scenic causeways, and over rustic bridges to the LaHave Islands. Journey through the sleepy seaside villages found here and watch lobster boats bring in their daily hauls. A late afternoon stop for tea and scones at Lahave Bakery is a treat, as this year-round bakery and cafe is considered a 20th-century riverside chandlery landmark. After returning to the hotel, you are free to explore your last night in Lunenburg.
We will ride to Mahone Bay on the Atlantic Coast. After lunch we will shuttle to the town of Wolfville, known for its agricultural dykes. Once we reach out to the hotel, we will embark on a ride through the town. Dinner tonight is at the beautiful Tattingstone Inn.
Today marks the biggest riding day of the tour, as we travel through backcountry farmlands, small towns and villages, farmer’s stands, and iconic Nova Scotian rolled haystacks. Enjoy a delicious lunch in Dempsey Corner Orchard, also known as “The Heart of the Annapolis Valley,” before riding to the historic town of Annapolis Royal, a National Historic Site of Canada.
Ride past the Annapolis Royal Generating Station, which formerly operated as the only tidal generating station in North America. Make your way to the Port-Royal National Historic Site, home to the historic Habitation at Port-Royal. Tonight please join your group for a farewell dinner at one of the best restaurants in town.
This morning we rise early to explore sites and scenes in a town that happens to be steeped in history. After lunch before heading back to Halifax for the end of the tour.
