Our journey begins in Annapolis Royal, the birthplace of Canada and former capital of Nova Scotia. We pedal to the historic town of Wolfville and end our journey in the picture postcard coastal town of Lunenburg- immaculate with its preserved British colonial vibes, colorful homes, historic buildings, and a stunning harbor. Day 1: Welcome to Nova Scotia & Lunenburg

Welcome to Nova Scotia and the colorful waterfront town of Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its maritime heritage and beautifully preserved architecture. Upon arrival at Halifax Airport, we will transfer you to Mahone Bay. After a professional bike fitting, enjoy a warm-up ride to Lunenburg and the picturesque fishing village of Blue Rocks, known for its rugged coastline and working harbor. From there we will drive to the oceanfront Oak Island Resort, your home for the evening. Tonight, gather with your group for a welcome reception and dinner overlooking the Atlantic.

Day 2: Coastal Villages & the LaHave Islands

This morning wake up to the salty breezes of the Atlantic. After breakfast, travel past weathered coves, across scenic causeways, and over rustic bridges to the LaHave Islands. Ride through the sleepy seaside villages found here and watch lobster boats bring in their daily hauls. A late afternoon stop for tea and scones at Lahave Bakery is a treat, as this year-round bakery and cafe is considered a 20th-century riverside landmark. Tonight you explore Lunenburg and it’s culinary highlights at your own pace.

Day 3: Mahone Bay & the Annapolis Valley

This morning, ride along the Atlantic Coast to the postcard-perfect town of Mahone Bay, famous for its waterfront churches and nautical charm. After lunch, transfer inland to Wolfville, a vibrant university town nestled in the heart of the Annapolis Valley and known for its fertile farmlands and historic dykelands. Upon arrival, enjoy an afternoon ride through town and the surrounding countryside. This evening, savor a multi-course dinner at the elegant Tattingstone Inn, your home for the night.

Day 4: Through the Heart of the Annapolis Valley

Today features the tour’s most rewarding ride as you journey through the scenic farmlands of the Annapolis Valley. Cycle past rolling fields, small villages, roadside farm stands, and Nova Scotia’s iconic hay bales. Midday, enjoy lunch at Dempsey Corner Orchard, often referred to as the “Heart of the Annapolis Valley.” Continue riding through this picturesque landscape before arriving in historic Annapolis Royal, one of Canada’s oldest European settlements and a designated National Historic Site.

Day 5: History & Tides of the Bay of Fundy

Today’s ride highlights the remarkable history and natural wonders of the Annapolis Basin. Pass the Annapolis Royal Generating Station, once home to North America’s only tidal power facility, before continuing to Port-Royal National Historic Site. Here, explore the reconstructed Habitation at Port-Royal, one of the earliest European settlements in North America. This evening, celebrate your Nova Scotia adventure with a memorable farewell dinner alongside your fellow travelers at one of Annapolis Royal’s finest restaurants.

Day 6: Farewell to Nova Scotia

Bluenose Lodge

Somewhere between a boutique Inn and gracious home sits the Bluenose Lodge on Nova Scotia’s South Shore in Lunenburg. Built as a sea captain’s home in 1863, it was converted into an Inn in the 1940’s. It is a Victorian Gothic style building known for its distinctive architectural features, including a prominent widow’s tower. (2 nights)

RATING Easy/Intermediate - This tour has certain days or sections of routes that have gently rolling hills with some longer grades. However, those instances will be few and far between and the overall trip is at an easy level for cyclists who don’t cycle often. Van options are available for those tougher segments if you choose to opt out, with routes averaging 10-75 miles per day.

VAN SUPPORT Rides supported by a Sojourn van as well as a tour leader on a bicycle.
TOUR LEADERS Two experienced tour leaders guide each trip from start to finish.
