Sojourn bike tour guests tell us time and time again that our tour leaders are the best in the business. Gracious, engaging, and intelligent. Always a step ahead of your desires, they are adept at everything from spinning wrenches to whipping up fabulous picnic lunches or suggesting the perfect beverage to pair with your dinner selection. They even have a knack for magically appearing with the support van and refreshments just as your energy is waning.
For those who have yet travel with Sojourn, our bicycling vacations feature two world-class tour leaders who are truly jack of all trades. In addition to ensuring guest safety and enjoyment while on vacation, our tour leaders also make for exceptional travel companions. From retired teachers to Olympic alpine ski coaches to commercial bankers to professional photographers to non-profit philanthropists to former military pilots and more, our tour leaders are the heart and soul of Sojourn. Needless to say, we take great pride in these ‘curators of fun’ who are not just employees, but rather like our guests, they are family.Read More
Wholistic refers to the idea or philosophy that all parts of a thing are interconnected, with a focus on complete systems rather than simply upon individual parts. At Sojourn, we pride ourselves on the wholistic consideration that drives the creation of our tours. The time you spend with us isn’t just about the biking, or the scenery, or the places you visit – it’s bigger than that. Your time with us is a wholistic experience, mindfully crafted by Sojourn staff, designed to transcend typical active vacations and deliver on our promise of “The Good Life, By Bike.”
There is perhaps no better showcase for this wholistic approach than our wine country bike tours. Whether you travel with us through the well-known appellations in California’s Sonoma County, or to the distinctive microclimate of Canada’s Niagara Escarpment (a ridge carved by ancient glaciers) that supports Ontario, Canada’s most active wine region, you can expect a luscious fusion of cycling, culinary delight, and vinous exploration.Read More
Last month, I had the good fortune to travel to California and then on to Arizona for my first Sojourn bike tour since joining the staff last fall. This west coast trip, I knew, was an important opportunity to meet Sojourn’s partners face-to-face, view (and stay in) our beautiful lodging properties, and ride some the bike routes for myself. I was expecting to have a good time but, after all, this was still work, right?
It ended up being one of the most fun 16-day stretches of my adult life. (By the way, you can click on any of these thumbnail images to view these photos full size, if you like.)Read More
