Sojourn bike tour guests tell us time and time again that our tour leaders are the best in the business. For those who have yet to travel with Sojourn, our bicycling vacations feature two world-class tour leaders who are truly jacks of all trades. In addition to ensuring guest safety and enjoyment while on vacation, our tour leaders also make for exceptional travel companions. Needless to say, we take great pride in these ‘curators of fun’ who are not just employees, but rather, like our guests, they are family.
Our Vermont Bike & Brewery Tour enjoyed fabulous weather this past August. Sojourn guest, Andrew Mockler, agreed for us to publish the article he wrote about his experience on this tour in the recent edition of Westchester Cycle Club’s “Out Spoke’n.” Thanks to Andy for sharing his adventure with us all (below)!
“Putting aside, for a moment, the wisdom of biking and sampling different beers throughout the day, this 6-day, Vermont Bike & Brewery Tour was great – really, really great in fact. It’s a van supported ride from inn-to-inn and limited to 18 people plus two tour leaders. We stayed in some very nice B&Bs (two especially come to mind: The Inn at Mountain View Farm in East Burke, VT and Hotel Vermont in Burlington – both excellent and very different from one another), had our gear and luggage transported to each property we stayed at (and waiting for us in our rooms at day’s end!) and had most meals as a group. I honestly can’t recommend this tour enough, especially if you’re a beer aficionado and like Vermont. I happen to love both so for me it was an easy choice.
A warm breeze hints at summer as a visitor from Sweden pedals ahead, leading his extended family along the quiet shoreline. We swing east off the lake, along smooth country roads that seem to impose upon rich green blankets of the landscape we’re riding through. The sounds of birds and farm animals fill pauses in our conversation as we soak in the beauty of it all, and the glorious weather. The air smells fresh, a combination of plants springing to life and fragrant blossoms that waft tantalizingly through the air. The deep blue sky highlights farm fields and weathered barns. You can’t help but want days like this to go on forever. Read The Full Post
