Our bike tour in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks showcases these natural treasures’ majestic beauty and iconic landscapes. From the thriving town of Jackson, Wyoming, cycle along car-free bike paths into Grand Teton National Park, home to eight towering peaks more than 12,000 feet high. Spend a full day inside the park exploring by bike or take an invigorating hike in the backcountry – you may even meet a resident moose or two. Continue north into Yellowstone National Park, where you’ll choose between a Sojourn leader-guided bike trip or a naturalist-guided van tour. Either option will take you along the park’s renowned lower loop to see Old Faithful, the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Hayden Valley, and Yellowstone Lake. There will be plenty of time to pedal along quiet back roads and bike paths or set out on an exciting whitewater rafting adventure on the Snake River. Later, browse Jackson’s art galleries and boutiques and savor a ranch-to-table meal complemented by local brews. Combining natural splendor and exhilarating activities, Sojourn’s bike tour in Yellowstone and Grand Teton’s National Parks will not disappoint!

Our Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks bike tour begins on the outskirts of Jackson, WY, and rides north toward and into Grand Teton National Park. Ride along the valley floor, past pristine lakes, with the Grand Tetons towering majestically almost 7,000 feet above you. Mid-way through today's ride your leaders will host a picnic lunch in the park, with the South, Middle and Grand Teton peaks laid out in front of you. Today's ride ends in the midst of Grand Teton National Park, and a quick shuttle to the majestic Togwotee Mountain Lodge, your home for the next two night. Join us for a hearty western style welcome dinnner at the hotel's Grizzly Grill restaurant.
The day is yours to fully explore the Grand Teton National Park and one or more of its hiking trails, with something perfect for any level of challenge or leisure. Today, we will not be leading due to park regulations but will be helping you with options for the activities. You can choose to take a scenic boat cruise on Jenny Lake or a walk around String Lake. The Cascade Canyon and Paintbrush Canyon Trails offer a few relatively challenging hikes or get up close to the heart of the Tetons with a hike on the Garnet Canyon trail. This evening we enjoy a casual dinner with the group at the hotel’s Red Fox Saloon.
After breakfast, we head further north to explore Wyoming's other crown jewel, Yellowstone National Park! There are two options available for today's adventure. A full-day van tour hosted and led by local Naturalists or a Sojourn guided tour that includes cycling. Both tours will explore the park's famed lower loop, passing by Old Faithful, Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Hayden Valley (known for wildlife), and Yellowstone Lake. For those who opt for the Naturalist lead van tour, the Naturalist will provide transportation and lunch, and you will be picked up and dropped off at your hotel. For others, we will shuttle from the hotel to the famed Old Faithful. After witnessing the geyser in all its glory, we cycle north to Madison Junction and ride the van over to Canyon for lunch. Today, lunch is on your own, with plenty of options available at the Canyon Village. Following lunch, you'll cycle the two different rims of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and then head South through Hayden Valley, noted for frequent wildlife sightings including; buffalo, grizzly bears, wolves, coyotes, otters, pelicans, harlequin ducks, & Canadian geese. We end our ride for the day at Yellowstone Lake. Tonight we will be staying at the Lake Yellowstone Hotel with dinner being at their iconic Lake Dining Room!
Today we'll travel back south to the famed town of Jackson. Sunday's route through Grand Teton National Park was so scenic that it is well worth repeating a portion of it, south from the Jackson Lake Lodge to the Moose visitor center at the park's south entrance. After leaving the park, the route diverges from Sunday's route, passing through the National Elk refuge. This valley floor travels past Mormon Row (a site of early Mormon settlers dating back to the 1890s) before stopping for lunch at Kelly Café, a true oasis in the middle of nowhere, with a view! We'll end our day at the luxurious White Buffalo Club, our home for the next two nights. Start your evening by walking one block from the hotel and having a drink seated on a saddle barstool at the famed Million Dollar Cowboy Saloon. Then enjoy dinner at one of the many fine-dining establishments of your choice within walking distance of the hotel.
This morning we keep our bikes parked and depart after breakfast to a nearby whitewater rafting trip on the Snake River. The Snake features class I to III rapids. We will be in 8 passenger boats with professional rafting guides. These boats are large enough to navigate the rapids safely but small enough for an adventurous ride. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the town or take the town shuttle bus up to Teton Village to ride the famed Jackson Hole tram to the top of Rendezvous Peak. After admiring the view, stop in at Corbett’s Cabin up top for a waffle! Those who haven’t had enough miles on their bikes, and want a real classic cycling challenge, ride the bike path to the top of Teton Pass, climbing 2300 feet over 6 miles with sustained 8 to 12% grades. Alternatively, just enjoy the hotel and book one of the packages at their spa. Tonight, we’ll gather for our final/farewell dinner at one of Jackson’s finest restaurants.
For our finale we’ll ride a different section of Jackson famed bike/multi use pathways, south of town on the South Park loop. Return to the hotel in time for checkout and on to your next destination.

Lodging Website[Candid thoughts: Jackson Lake Lodge, Lake Yellowstone Hotel, and Old Faithful Inn are rustic national park lodges that represent the true uniqueness of Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. However, please know that these hotels offer much more simpler options than a typical Sojourn accommodation. While they are right inside the parks and offer outstanding options for riding and hiking, and jaw-dropping vistas surrounding them, the rooms are not equipped with televisions or air-conditioning. They will feel much more scaled back than most properties on any Sojourn trip]
